Job Summary

The Lead Electrician leads and coordinates the work of electricians to ensure the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, repair and removal of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures in commercial real estate buildings. Work is performed in accordance with safety protocols and company policies and procedures.

Essential functions

· Supervise electricians, providing guidance on day-to-day oversight of electrical work orders, safety protocols, and job-specific tasks pertaining to the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems.

· Monitor the progress of work, troubleshoot issues, and provide solutions to keep projects on track.

· Review project plans and blueprints to determine the scope of work and material requirements.

· Identify and resolve electrical problems, including system malfunctions and equipment failures.

· Perform diagnostic tests on electrical systems and recommend necessary repairs or replacements.

· Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and local, state, and national electrical codes.

· Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and training sessions to maintain a safe working environment.

· Maintain accurate records of work performed, including time logs, material usage, and safety reports.

· Prepare reports for management regarding project status, challenges, and progress.

· Work closely with project managers, contractors, and other trades to ensure smooth coordination of electrical tasks.

· Communicate effectively with clients to address concerns, provide updates, and offer solutions when necessary.

· Ensure that all tools and equipment are maintained and in proper working condition.

· Order and track necessary materials and tools to complete electrical tasks.

· Provide on-the-job training to junior electricians and apprentices.

· Stay up to date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices through ongoing professional development.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.

Supervisory and team management abilities.

Strong communication and people skills.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and schematics.

Proficient with hand and power tools, as well as specialized electrical equipment.

Education and qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent experience.

Experience: At least 5-7 years of experience as an electrician, including 2-3 years in a supervisory role.

Thorough knowledge of local and national electrical codes and electrical procedures.

Skilled in all phases of electrical installation and repair including solar plants; the operation of all electrical tools and test equipment used in electrical installation and repair; applying occupational safety precautions and practices.

OSHA related safety training

Valid PA driver’s license

Physical Demands:

Required to transport ladders, power and hand tools and electrical equipment, such as fixtures and rolls of wire weighing up to 100 pounds. Climb and work on ladders, stay in a stationary position for extended periods of time, and in confined spaces or at heights. Mental and visual concentration for sustained periods of time.

Working Conditions:

May work in various environments that include residential, commercial, or industrial sites.

On occasion, may require working outside regular hours, including evenings or weekends for emergency situations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $33.96 - $40.07 per hour
