Senior Manager/Supervisor

Senior Manager with Fast-Track to Principal, Nonprofit, External Audit, Assurance Services

Looking for a career in public accounting working with mission-driven organizations? We are seeking candidates to work within our External Audit/Assurance Services Group on nonprofit client engagements primarily in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia. The incumbent’s responsibilities include audit planning and supervision and oversight of audit teams, staff and client training, managing and developing our existing client relationships as well as expanding our nonprofit practice through business development and marketing efforts.

Our client base focuses on community action agencies with reporting requirements in compliance with Government Auditing Standards and the Uniform Guidance. Additional nonprofit clients include trade associations, membership organizations, social service organizations, social clubs, schools, faith-based organizations, and foundations.
 

Client Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop existing relationships by providing exceptional client service.
  • Review and evaluate audit work papers, financial statements, and other reports, ensuring compliance with professional standards and firm policy.
  • Collaborate to develop audit strategies that comply with professional standards and that appropriately address risk while maintaining and building upon efficiencies.
  • Effectively work independently, as well as within a team, both in-person and in a remote environment.
  • Supervise multiple engagements and teams, managing time and resources of all staff assigned to nonprofit engagements.
  • Lead presentation of client financial statements and audit results to boards of directors
  • Mentor, train, and provide performance feedback to employees.
  • Availability to travel to client sites and for business development efforts as needed.
 

Business Development Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in the firm’s business development and marketing efforts.
  • Drive and achieve associated growth goals in revenue, breadth of services, and in establishing and managing all nonprofit client relationships.
  • Understand our policies, procedures, and its services offered to actively assess/present ways to apply knowledge and services. Develop long-term relationships and networks both internally and externally.
  • Track and report on all business development activities.
  • Represent the firm through involvement in professional, recruiting, charitable, and/or civic events and organizations.
  • Promote the firm’s reputation through participation and presentation at conferences and seminars.
 

Qualifications

  • CPA required.
  • 8+ years of experience auditing nonprofit organizations – particularly those funded by federal and state grants.
  • Strong understanding of the OMB Compliance supplement and audit requirements related to compliance testing.
  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to drive business development efforts.
  • Highly organized with good time management skills, focused on multitasking and prioritization.
  • Proficiency with CaseWare is a plus.
 

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
